“If you want to do a deep anti-hair loss treatment, apply a few drops of retinol to your scalp and leave the treatment overnight,” the expert advises. For best results, use a silk hood. The latter will help the hair better absorb the product and even amplify its effects.

Retinol for hair: what are the contraindications?

Before using this active it is very important to do an allergy test. So put two or three drops of retinol on your wrist and wait 24 hours to check that you don’t have an allergic reaction.

“Plus, it’s an acid that can be particularly irritating and drying. So pay attention to the type of retinol chosen and the amount used,” warns the hairstylist. That is why it is always preferable to use retinol serums that are intended exclusively for the care of the scalp and hair. Finally, always respect the dosages indicated on the product.
